Our two-year program is designed to prepare the young people of our community to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.

Welcome to St. Edna's Confirmation program! Here in this parish the preparation begins in the student's school year of 8th grade and then celebrated in the fall of their 10th grade.

The Confirmation program for teens consists of bi-weekly in-house sessions of fellowship, prayer, and small group discussions on various topics associated with the sacrament.

Each session is 2 hours long. The first hour is participation at the 5pm mass. During this mass the teens will be asked to leave the church during the liturgy of the word to discuss scripture in a small group on their level. The teens will then return to the church for the completion of mass during the offertory time. When mass concludes, the students head over to the designated area for faith/Confirmation instruction. We do this so that our students have time to pray and reflect on their faith with others their age.

Preparation in order to receive the sacrament is a 2 year process.

Now there may be some teens out there who may be in these grade levels or higher and haven't participated in Religious Education every year. Confirmation is still an option for you! 

Students who will be in 8th grade or higher in Fall 2024 may be enrolled in Year 1 of the program which will be held during the Fall 2024 school year. 

Students who have completed Year 1 and who will be in 9th grade or higher in Fall 2024 may enroll in Year 2 of the program which will also be held during the Fall 2024 school year.
