People seeking help may come to St. Edna during the following service hours, or call the office to be connected to the hotline. We provide Jewel cards, McDonalds cards, gas vouchers and emergency financial assistance to those within our boundary. Help from the food pantry is given to all who request it.
We are always looking for compassionate people to serve as Outreach ministers. We currently have 4 teams. As a minister, you would serve one three-hour shift every four weeks. Training is provided. For those who work fulltime, we currently have a need for someone to serve on Saturdays. If you are interested in serving as an Outreach minister let me know.

You can help. The food pantries at St. James and St. Edna always need donations of household items (toilet paper, paper towels) as well as canned fruit. We thank you for your continued support with your donations in the bins outside door 6.
The need for cleaning products has increased over the months. We had been using your financial donations to purchase these products to supplement the items that you donate. We implemented a process change in September for people asking for detergents, toiletries, etc. We will be giving these families a Dollar Tree gift card to cover the purchase of these items for the coming month. This reduces our need to store bulkier items in the food pantry.
Some of our clients, especially the homeless, need a car to get to work or medical appointments. If you realized during the pandemic that you no longer need one of your cars, please consider donating the car to the Good News Garage in DesPlaines at the Trinity Lutheran website: http://www.trinitydesplaines.org/home/our-faith-in-action
